Changelog
One dated line per edition with its headline finding, plus method changes, corrections and superseded figures. Newest first.
- Method. A week label is always the ISO week it reports. The first ISO edition is W42, reporting 12 to 18 October, and is planned for Monday 19 October. The labels W32 to W41 follow the former Tuesday-to-Monday count and do not correspond to ISO weeks (the former “W41” lies mostly in ISO week 40); each archive edition now says so next to its reporting window. No edition was renamed or re-dated.
- Site. The masthead now carries the edition count (generated from the data) and the line “Electro Mobility Evolution Lab — Empowered by the Electron Vector and the Hydrogen Vector. Same method for both.”; the footer states that figures are retrieved from named sources, never generated, and carries a plain-text credit. The attribution wording is now “each carries its source, date and verification status”.
- Quarterly layer. First quarterly retro, Q3 2026, published with its collection status declared: Germany July and August, Spain July to September (passenger cars), September for Germany and the EU quarter due on 15 and 22 October. It is continued by a later run, not edited.
- Method. From edition W42 a week is the ISO calendar week (Monday to Sunday). The ten editions W32 to W41 keep their published reporting windows (Tuesday to Monday; W32 and W33 irregular) and each now states its window on the page. No edition was re-dated.
- Correction (cause of the 166.62). The entry of 2026-10-08 left the cause of the test-run value 166.62 open. It is closed: the OMIE price file carries a Portuguese and a Spanish column without a header, and the test run read the Portuguese one. The Spanish weekly mean for 29 September to 5 October is 165.73 €/MWh, as stated there; W41’s 165.7 is confirmed. Every price metric now has to name its series, and a week whose days come from more than one series is refused by the validator.
- Correction (comparability table). The table of 2026-10-06 listed passenger-car battery-electric against hydrogen combustion as “comparable”, which contradicts the thesis. Turning it to “not comparable” would be untrue as well, because the two really compete. The table now has three states: comparable (4 pairs, battery-electric against fuel-cell in car, truck, bus and rail), outside the core (25 pairs, including every pair with a combustion technology and every pair in ship and aviation) and not comparable (91 pairs, unchanged). Of the 29 pairs that were “comparable” before, 4 stay computed and 25 are no longer computed; no refused pair became computed.
- Correction (Spanish day-ahead power price). A test run recorded 166.62 €/MWh for 29 September to 5 October; W41 published 165.7. Recomputed from the seven OMIE daily price files as the arithmetic mean of all marginal prices: 165.73 €/MWh. The W41 figure stands. The 166.62 is superseded (it is not an averaging difference; OMIE publishes no demand-weighted day-ahead series). The metric is now defined as the arithmetic mean of OMIE’s marginal prices over the ISO calendar week.
- Method. Eurostat’s
HYD_FCELLis documented as an aggregate of fuel-cell and hydrogen combustion vehicles, with a mandatory composition field, like the battery side’s “electrically chargeable” aggregate. - Method. The publication is renamed Electro Mobility, with two equal lines: Hydrogen Vector and Electron Vector. Paths moved to
/electro-mobility/…; the old addresses redirect permanently. The core is car, truck, bus and rail; ship and aviation move to the depth of the Hydrogen Vector and are observed quarterly and on events. Coverage is reported on the old and the new basis side by side, so the change in the share is not read as progress. The comparability table is now ratified; no pair was changed. New: a technology value for aggregated “electrically chargeable” (BEV + PHEV) figures, context only; each metric declares its cadence; evidence is set by the retrieving agent at retrieval. - 2026-W41 — A second zero-FID, zero-cancellation week, offset by the quarter's largest confirmed offtake: H2Global's €585m, 10-year green-ammonia contract won by India's AM Green for supply to Germany.
- Superseded: H2 La Joya pipeline-length and objection-count figures reflect the corrected position, replacing an earlier withdrawn correction.
- 2026-W40 — A quiet FID week met the loudest EU regulatory move in months: infringement proceedings against 26 of 27 member states for missing the 5 Aug 2026 hydrogen and gas directive deadline; Uniper signed a 40,000 t/yr e-SAF offtake.
- 2026-W39 — German power set a series record of €740.01/MWh (14 Sep, Dunkelflaute); Moeve Onuba broke ground with figures restated; South Africa's Phelan Green e-SAF project reached FID.
- Superseded: Moeve Onuba public support restated to €304m (previously €263m).
- Correction: Repsol Cartagena water source reclassified from desalination to municipal supply.
- 2026-W38 — TTF gas spiked to €83.39/MWh (+159.4% y/y) and German day-ahead power swung from €42.14 to €191.82/MWh; SABIC took FID on a blue-ammonia/CCS complex in Jubail, and a new aquifer-versus-electrolyser water dispute surfaced in Castilla y León.
- Resolved: the HUB LA ISLA H2 (Dos Hermanas) verification gap closed; a live debt-crowdfunding round confirms phased financing.
- 2026-W37 — Gas kept climbing while German power crashed on wind: TTF €75.06/MWh (+127.0% y/y, fourth weekly gain) against German day-ahead €42.14/MWh on 4 September; the Asian Renewable Energy Hub cut from 26 GW to 15 GW is confirmed.
- Confirmed: the Asian Renewable Energy Hub reduction reported last week is independently verified.
- Correction: Moeve Carteia's "28 July resubmission" is reframed as the Junta reopening información pública on alegaciones from an August 2025 consultation, not a new filing.
- 2026-W36 — A quiet week with no new global FID and no confirmed cancellation: TTF gas at €68.82/MWh (+114.7% y/y, third weekly gain); thyssenkrupp nucera cut FY25/26 EBIT guidance while nine-month green-hydrogen orders nearly doubled to €471m.
- Resolved: H2 La Joya's water source is confirmed as treated wastewater (EDAR Guadalhorce) and reclassified to ⑤.
- Correction: Linde Leuna's €4.3m funding notice is dated 13 August 2025, not a W35 or W36 development.
- 2026-W35 — Moeve Carteia gets its first public water figure (~3.1 hm³/yr, NGO filing); Plug Power abandons its 100 MW Antwerp plant and Fortescue hands back its Gladstone gigafactory site.
- Correction: the expediente reference carried for Moeve Carteia in W33/W34 is retracted (unrelated case).
- Correction: ITM Power FY2026 results date is 15 Sep 2026, not 13 Aug.
- Resolved: Bad Lauchstädt water source classified as municipal, dry cooling.
- 2026-W34 — Consolidation widened from OEMs to projects: HySCALE100 (2.1 GW, Germany) cancelled; thyssenkrupp nucera green-hydrogen order intake ~€3m for the quarter; EIC reports under 10% of Europe's 2030-target projects at FID.
- Method: EU ETS carbon price added as a tracked input.
- Method: German UVP-Portal yielded its first retrieved document in three editions.
- 2026-W33 — No final investment decision announced anywhere; public money moved instead (Spain €274.2m, Netherlands €780m, South Africa ZAR 3bn). German analysts cut capacity secured by 2030 from 2.1–2.4 GW to 1.5 GW, and the water screening grew from 6 to 27 projects.
- Method: water-intake screening expanded from 6 to 27 projects.
- Correction: Andalusia's portfolio figure is €6,000m, not €6.2bn (Junta de Andalucía, 11 March 2026).
- Correction: the W32 correction on H2 La Joya objections is withdrawn; over 2,000 alegaciones is reinstated, following 300+ residents and COAG at the 28 February assembly.
- Correction: the name "Acuífero del Agua" is withdrawn; it appears in no retrieved source.
- Superseded: RWE Lingen capacity restated as ~100 MW live, 200 MW by end-2026, 300 MW in 2027.
- 2026-W32 — Building more, committing less: installed electrolysis doubled to 4 GW and RWE's 300 MW Lingen delivered first hydrogen, but 2025 FIDs fell below 0.8 Mt/yr and the 2030 project pipeline shrank by 10 Mt to 27 Mt.
